First Annual Paddles For Battles
We hosted our first ever charity pickleball tournament in August 2024, bringing together over 16 teams. With the support of friends, family, and community members, we raised more than $500 for The Newburgh Ministry.

Second Annual Tournament
Our second tournament happened in May 2025 at Delano Hitch Park, with local vendors and food trucks, live music, and a welcoming space for players and spectators of all ages. We ended up raising over $1,000 for the Newburgh Ministry.

Rebrand and Expanding Our Horizons
In March of 2026, we rebranded from Paddles For Battles to The Step Forward to help expand our opportunities past pickleball and be able to expand more and more how we want.

First Non-Pickleball Event
We are planning to have our first non-pickleball event in June of 2026 as a fundraiser to be able to afford our more expensive endeavors.

Largest Event to Date
In August of 2026, we are planning to host our largest and biggest endeavor yet at Chadwick Lake Park. We are still searching for sponsors and donors as we are still deciding which charity will receive our profits.

Looking Ahead
The future of our group is still in the air, but we have many good ideas to help uplift our community through active play and many beneficial charities. We hope to keep on breaking the mold and delivering on fun and engaging events for years to come.
